about the creator

Seek Out the Magic:

We have the tools.

We use our experience to create yours

Born in the middle of the UK more than half a century ago, KelvinLeeGrant has been either teaching or learning languages for as long as he can remember -wherever, whenever and in whatever.

For over forty years, in more than 9 countries*, he has been assisting students in their language learning journeys, in all styles, to people of any age,  any profession.

Over this time, his language learning Pedagogy or Philosophy or style has undergone umpteen changes, zig-zagging endlessly from one extreme to the other.

Adapted to the technological imperatives of e-learning and m-learning, it is quietly settling into a multi-vibrational, multi-sense, multidimensional state of flux, the essence, now but reduced to just one three-word catchphrase. An encapsulated summary of all you need.

"Don't Think! Feel!"

about you

You Have the Power:

You are Awesome.

We use our experience to create yours

YOU HAVE KNOWLEDGE, COURAGE AND FAITH

In The Master Key system it is written: "....The only way to keep from going backward is to keep going forward. Eternal vigilance is the price of success. There are three steps, and each one is absolutely essential. You must first have the knowledge of your power; second, the courage to dare; third, the faith to do…….”

YOU HAVE EXTRAORDINARY ABILITY

You are a remarkable individual with all the skills and techniques to transform the way you learn a language. You are able to effortlessly remember and confidently use all kinds of English expressions in a variety of situations. You always know what to say and how and when to say it .

Invent Novel Ways to Optimize your Learning Experience

Learning English is a multi-sense reading, writing listening, speaking, watching, feeling and thinking experience.

At ArtyEnglish, you experiment with old and new variations of these basic skills in fun, creative and imaginative ways, enabling you to invent and incorporate your own ideas and creative imagination into the learning process.

Check what our clients say about us

"..As a woman who lived during troubled times, I was of more use as a female warrior in battle than as an English speaking housewife in our primitive kitchens. Nonetheless, there are some interesting ideas in this course that I might employ some time on the battlefield.”

- Jomoe Gozen (巴 御前)

Software Architect

“... It seems like I've been studying English forever - to no avail. I tried out some of the exercises in the course this morning and thought to myself, "Wow! This is great! Hokusai also tried a few out so quite often now we chat to each other in English... I feel much more confident now than I did before..”

- Katsushika Oi

VIDEO ANIMATION ARCHITECT

“... Before we set up the new paradigm influenced and strengthened by Western ideas, hardly anyone in Japan spoke more than a crude, rudimentary English. With a course such as this, the transition from an isolated society to one with an open door would have been a smoother one.”

- Tokugawa_Ieyasu,

CEO of UFL & founder of Modern Japan

More on the creator

Besides teaching, in order to survive, he has also enjoyed being involved in a mindboggling array of jobs*, the pinnacle of which was as the owner, manager and DOS, in Tokyo, Japan, for 11 years, of a a small, multi-purpose 外語学院 (also conversation lounge and event space for the local community).  Oh, the sweet memories of that time and place! He does sometimes miss it.

He speaks, besides his native English, pretty good Spanish, very bad Japanese, appalling French and even worse Chinese; his Vietnamese, though sometimes spoken with barely intelligible pronunciation, is his present linguistic mission; he is well on the way to almost being in command of 101 of the most important questions you can ask a complete stranger. (An English version is in the works and will be available some time in 2024.)

As well as proud father, to a trilingual, adventurous, enterprising and entrepreneurial son- director of the ArtyEnglish parent company, Tzi'kin Enterprises, London- he is also an ecstatic and wonder-filled grandfather to a girl, a future polyglot now killing it in kindergarten in Malaga, Spain.....

Below find an abbreviated and random list - both historical and contemporary- of Japanese ideas, people, concepts, abstract and concrete cultural things that he has been either just fond of over the years -or obsessed with-invaluable treasures that have shaped him, guided him, moved him, played an important role in his life.

Above all else, his aim with ArtyEnglish is to inspire you to seek out and discover, to learn about and love, not just the magic of the English language and its culture, but that of the language and people and cultural treasures of the world.
